Why Asian sizes run small
Chinese, Japanese and Korean size systems are based on smaller average body measurements than US sizing. In practice, the same letter size usually runs about one to two sizes smaller than the US label you are used to. Cuts can also be straighter, with narrower shoulders and shorter torso and sleeve lengths.

How to use the size chart on a product page
- Measure yourself with a soft tape: bust (fullest part), waist (narrowest part) and hips (fullest part). Write the numbers down in inches.
- Check whether the chart lists body or garment measurements. Garment measurements are the flat size of the clothing, which needs to be a little larger than your body.
- Convert centimetres if needed: divide cm by 2.54 to get inches.
- Allow ease: for fitted dresses, add about 1–2 in to your bust measurement. For coats, add 3–4 in so it fits over a sweater.
- Check length on dresses and coats. Shorter torso and sleeve lengths are common.
When to size up
- You are between two sizes.
- The fabric has little or no stretch (satin, woven coats, faux leather).
- You plan to layer a coat over thick knitwear.
- You have broader shoulders or a longer torso.
